COMPTROLLER

The Derry Township Municipal Authority (DTMA) in Derry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania is seeking a qualified Comptroller to oversee its financial operations. This position plays a critical role in managing budgeting, financial reporting, auditing, and ensuring compliance with GASB standards. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the annual Operating and Capital Budgets.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the Board and management.
  • Coordinate the annual audit process with external auditors.
  • Monitor and reconcile bank, investment, and trust accounts.
  • Ensure timely debt service payments and adherence to financial obligations.
  • Oversee financial aspects of construction projects and cash flow forecasting.
  • Provide backup support for HR payroll and timesheet processing as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Governmental Accounting, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in auditing and budgeting, preferably in municipal government.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (NAV or Business Central) software is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GASB standards and municipal accounting.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

 

Compensation:

WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR CAREER OPPORTUNITY – SECOND SHIFT

The Derry Township Municipal Authority (DTMA) in Derry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania is seeking applicants to fill a full-time, second shift Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator career position. The work associated with this position primarily involves monitoring operating conditions and making appropriate adjustments to processes and equipment for two (2) advanced wastewater treatment plants. Position responsibilities shall also include the operation of pumps, motors and valves; maintaining written records; collecting wastewater samples; performing routine maintenance; cleaning and general laborer duties. This position requires the availability to work occasionally on weekends and holidays as needed. It will also require occasional mandatory overtime. The current work schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

DTMA is seeking candidates who wish to pursue a career in the wastewater industry, have good verbal and written communication skills, are detail oriented and personable, and can function successfully as part of a team. The minimum qualification includes having obtained a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior related work experience or advanced education and training in the wastewater treatment field is preferred but not required. Applicants must hold a valid PA driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Applicants shall also be subject to background checks and drug testing.

The starting pay for this position will be dependent upon the applicant’s qualifications, including experience, education, and any wastewater operator certification that the applicant may hold.
