WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY OPERATOR
The Derry Township Municipal Authority is seeking applicants for a full-time Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator position. The work involves monitoring operating conditions and making appropriate adjustments to processes and equipment for an advanced wastewater treatment plant. The operation of pumps, motors, and valves, maintaining written records, collecting wastewater samples and performing routine maintenance, painting, cleaning, and laborer duties are all included. The successful candidate will typically work both independently and as part of a team.
This position requires availability to work a rotating shift schedule including weekends, holidays, and occasional mandatory overtime. The current work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with rotating weekend and on-call duty required after applicable training.
We are seeking candidates who wish to pursue a career in the wastewater industry and has good verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented, personable, and can function successfully as part of a team. Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent. Prior related work experience or advanced education & training in the wastewater field is preferred but not required. Applicants must hold a valid PA driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Applicants are subject to background checks and drug testing.
The starting pay for this position will be dependent upon applicant’s qualifications including experience, education, and wastewater operator certification.
