Public Meeting - September 7, 2022 at 6:00 PM
A public meeting will be held on Monday, September 7th at 6:00 PM in the Hershey Public Library, 701 Cocoa Avenue, Hershey, PA, to discuss the draft Chesapeake Bay Pollution Reduction Plan that is open for public review and comment as part of our National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) Notice of Intent. Tree Planting - Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Location: DTMA - 670 Clearwater Road, Hershey, PA
Please join DTMA and Londonderry Township on Saturday, October 22nd for a tree planting event. DTMA and Londonderry Township collaborated on a joint application for trees through the Penn State Agriculture and Environment Center and were awarded approximately 130 trees! These trees were made possible by a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation entitled "Greening the Lower Susquehanna".
We plan on planting half of the trees on DTMA's 670 Clearwater Road site to expand the riparian buffer along Swatara Creek and the other half will be planted at the entrance to DTMA's Southwest Treatment plant located along Swatara Creek Road in Londonderry Township, expanding the riparian buffer at that location too. Londonderry Township conducted a tree planting along adjacent properties a few years ago, and our scheduled planting will help expand those efforts.
Please plan to meet at DTMA's 670 Clearwater Road plant at 9:00 AM. Once we are done at this location, we will move on to the Swatara Creek Road site. Be prepared to get dirty, sweat a little (or a lot), and have a great time as we work to improve our environment! To register for the event, please email Mike at mcallahan@dtma.com.
